With a Jewish population of almost 50,000, mostly in Montreal and Toronto, Limmud FSU Canada 2014 was the newest outpost of Jewish learning for young people with Russian backgrounds, who have experienced the paucity of Jewish values, traditions, and identity.

This exciting expansion of Limmud FSU was driven by young Canadian Russian-Jewish volunteers with a desire to learn, to lead, and to become more involved with the Jewish community and Israel. Reaching out to the young Russian-Jewish population across this vast country, Limmud FSU Canada hopes its conference will inspire participants intellectually and spiritually, and provide a unique place in their community for Jewish learning, leadership development, and meaningful engagement.

“You can call it Tikkun Olam or community building, or even making the world a better place. I volunteer because I believe being part of Limmud FSU will make me, and so many others, a better person!  All together, a positive change will come!”
