The fourth Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference took place in Jerusalem Wednesday morning, and 300 foreign diplomats, 100 invited guests and 100 journalists  attended the conference, which
was held at Waldorf Astoria hotel.
The conference has been titled, “A Place Among the Nations,” after PM Netanyahu’s 1993 book. “The rebirth of Israel is one of humanity’s greatest parables. It is the story
.not only of the Jews, but of a human spirit that refuses again and again to succumb to history’s horrors,” Netanyahu wrote in the book .Herb Keinon, The Jerusalem Post’s diplomatic correspondent, also interviewed the prime minister on stage.
.Kicking off the event WAS Opposition leader Isaac Herzog and among the other distinguished speakers were Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, Education Minister Naftali Bennett, IAF commander Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel, EU Ambassador Lars Faaborg-Andersen, US Ambassador Dan Shapiro and the Post senior contributing editor Caroline B. Glick.
During the event, a special photographic exhibit created by Limmud FSU, “Opening the Gates” marking 25 years since the opening of the gates of the Soviet Union to free Jewish emigration, was shown to PM, and the other leading guests by Limmud FSU founder Chaim Chesler. The over 50 historic photographs include several depicting the role played by Canadians in that struggle. The exhibit has already been shown in the Knesset and is featured in other Limmud FSU events around the world.
